1.3.2 Health and Safety
All Contractor personnel shall have been trained in accordance with the
applicable sections of 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926/1910, and shall be current
in their health and safety training and participation in an annual medical
monitoring program.
Construction of the well will involve drilling into aquifer zones containing
known concentrations of Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and Ethylene Dibromide
(EDB). Presented in Table 1 are the results of recent monitoring of the
groundwater in the vicinity of the well location. This information is provided for
advisory purposes only and no warranty or claim is made that the concentrations
shown in the table will be similar to actual concentrations encountered during the
construction of the wells.
Also provided for reference in Table 2 is a summary of health effects of
DBCP and EDB. This information is also provided as only an advisory and the
Contractor is encouraged to conduct his own evaluation of health effects for
protection of his workers.
It is TreaTek-CRA's opinion that it may be necessary to use Level B
personnel protection at least during the initial drilling of the borehole. Hence, the
Contractor should be capable of determining if Level B protection is required and
be capable and experienced in conducting drilling operations in Level B
protection.
1.3.3 Chargeable Costs and Expenses
The Contractor will furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary for
the construction, installation, development, and performance testing of the
3
