5.0 PUMP INSTALLATION PROCEDURES <br /> 5.1 Removal of Existing EW-4 Pump <br /> After completion of the new extraction well, it will be the responsibility of the <br /> Contractor to remove the existing Grundfos 10 hp submersible pump, stilling well <br /> and packer system from existing extraction well EW-4. The existing 3 inch <br /> diameter riser column pipe sections will be utilized for the new extraction well <br /> pump installation. Additionally, the EW-4 well head electrical breaker box will be <br /> utilized for the new well head construction. Left over riser column sections and <br /> the packer will be placed at a location specified by the supervising personnel near <br /> the groundwater treatment facility on J.R. Simplot property. <br /> 5.2 Pump Installation into the New Extraction Well <br /> The 10 hp submersible pump removed from EW-4 will be installed in the <br /> new extraction well by the Contractor at a depth just above the top of the well <br /> screen. (If pumping test results indicate that the existing pump is inadequate, a <br /> new pump will be selected for installation by the supervising personnel). The <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for all wiring required to tie the new well into the <br /> existing underground service currently serving well EW-4. <br /> 22 <br />
