2100 STIMSON ROAD <br /> WKA No 2086 05 <br /> March 25, 1993 <br /> Page 4 <br /> auger A comprehensive site plan showing the estimated hydrocarbon plume and locations of all <br /> boring, wells and samples is included as Plate 4 <br /> A total of 60 soil boring samples and four ground water samples were collected from the borings <br /> and wells, the samples were tested for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as JP-4, gasoline, <br /> and diesel, using modified EPA test method 8015 and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Total <br /> Xylenes (BTEX), using EPA test method 8020 Logs for borings B1 through B5, MW1 through <br /> MW3, and well construction diagrams are provided on PIates 5 through 13, a detailed description <br /> of drilling, sampling and well construction procedures is contained in Appendix A <br /> Soil Conditions <br /> Soil types encountered beneath the site were mostly brown and grey silts and sands to a depth of <br /> 49 feet A well-graded water saturated sand was encountered from a depth of 49 feet to <br /> approximately 53 feet A brown silty clay was encountered at a depth of 53 feet to the total <br /> depth of the borings, 59 feet A geologic cross section of subsurface soils beneath the site, based <br /> on our boring logs, is included as plate 14 <br /> Test results revealed no detectable TPH as gasoline diesel, motor oil or benzene in any of the <br /> boring samples TPH as IP4 was encountered only in the 15, 20, 25, and 30 foot samples from <br /> boring 133 Toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene contamination was detected in the four samples <br /> from boring B3 and additionally in soil samples from borings B1, B2, B4 and Di-1 <br /> Concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene components to these samples ranged from 3 <br /> mg/kg as ethylbenzene in the five-foot sample from boring DI-1, to 1580 mg/kg total xylenes in <br /> the 20 foot sample from boring 131 <br /> Cross sections showing the location of samples and TPH and BTEX concentrations are located on <br /> Plates 15 and 16 A summary of test results for all soil samples is included as Table 3 <br /> Complete laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documents for all soil samples are included in <br /> Appendix B <br /> `�A <br /> WALLACE•KUHL <br /> R ycled pnper rw ASSOCIATES ILC <br />
