Soil excavated from tank pit 1 and tank pit 2 was profiled
and disposed off sitez.
I
SCOPE OF WORK
k The objective of our investigation was to define the extent of hydrocarbons in soil and ground water beneath
Tank Pit 2. To meet this objective, we:
Prepared a site Health and Safety Plan, secured permits and coordinated field activities;
i
r Drilled 4 soil borings (S13-1 through S113-4) to a depth of 16 to 35 feet (ft), constructed a
monitoring well(MW-1)in soil boring SB-4, collected and analyzed selected soil and water
samples for TPHg,benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX); and
• Prepared a subsurface investigation report, presenting the results of the soil and ground water
sampling.
t
INVESTIGATION PROCEDURES
Cambria drilled soil borings SB-1,SB-3 and SB-4 to the east, west and north of Tank Pit 2,respectively. Due
to the proximity of the adjacent fence, we drilled soil boring SB-2 through the middle of the tank pit. Soil
boring SB-4 was completed as monitoring well MW-1, to a depth of about 35 ft.
The procedures used for Cambria's October 1996 subsurface investigation are summarized below. A copy of
the drilling permit is presented in Attachment A. Boring logs are presented in Attachment B. Analytic results
for soil and ground water are presented in Tables 1 and 2, respectively, and the analytic reports are presented
in Attachment C. Our standard field procedures are presented in Attachment D.
i
1i Ground Zero ,,Anal sisJune 2 1995:Workplan for Site Investi ation at Bennett Property,y kp g p rty,443 Sycamore Street,
Manteca,California.
2 Conversation with Mr.Harlin Knoll,San Joaquin County Department of Health Services,October 18,1996.
2
