Potentially Significant Impact • Prehistoric Cultural and <br /> Historic Early Settlement Deposits <br /> [ Impact 4 . 5-11 <br /> Development of the Project could disturb subsurface <br /> prehistoric cultural deposits or artifacts related to the <br /> prehistoric setting or historic archaeological deposits <br /> or features dating from the establishment of <br /> Euro-American settlement in San Joaquin County. <br /> Finding : Changes or alterations have been required in, <br /> or incorporated into, the Project which avoid or <br /> substantially lessen the significant environmental effect <br /> as identified in the FEIR to a non-significant level . <br /> These mitigation measures are listed below. <br /> Statement of Fact : The impact will be mitigated by the <br /> following : <br /> • When specific land use and development plans are <br /> formulated as part of the Specific Plan, additional <br /> archaeological surveys must be conducted in areas of <br /> specific development impact that have not been <br /> subjected to intensive archaeological reconnaissance . <br /> • Because of the possibility that a buried site, <br /> Ca-SJo-136, may be located in the vicinity of <br /> Mountain House Creek, construction activity in the <br /> Mountain House Creek area must be monitored by an <br /> archaeologist . <br /> • Because of the potential historic significance of <br /> Ca-SJo-29H, the site of the village of Wicklund, and <br /> because of the potential for buried features or <br /> artifact deposits , an archaeologist must monitor any <br /> construction work in the area of this site. <br /> • If, during the course of construction, subsurface <br /> historic archaeological features are identified on <br /> sites Ca-SJo-230H and Ca-SJo-231H or anywhere within <br /> the Project Site, or buried prehistoric cultural <br /> resources are found, excavation must cease and an <br /> C2-29 <br /> 0189r/0202r <br />
