Hazardous waste container storage and transfer areas shall <br /> be inspected weekly for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused by <br /> corrosion and other factors. Immediately begin conducting the necessary weekly inspections for all hazardous waste <br /> containers at this facility. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> -A 15 gallon blue plastic drum which previously held "POSCA Boiler Treatment" "corrosive liquid" was observed in the <br /> yard south of the Blasting Department with no empty labeling. <br /> -A 55 gallon black steel drum which previously held "Hynap"was observed in the yard west of the hazardous waste <br /> storage area with no empty labeling. <br /> Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were <br /> emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this <br /> section. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> -A 55 gallon black steel drum of used oil was observed in the hazardous waste storage area labeled only with the <br /> contents. <br /> -An open-top, black plastic pan of oily solids was observed in the yard south of the Blasting Department. <br /> -Used oil was observed accumulated on the tops of several drums inside the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> -A one gallon bucket of used oil was observed with no labeling in the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored <br /> on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler <br /> to dispose of these wastes under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class Il. <br /> Page 8 of 10 <br />
