All <br /> hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. This container was <br /> closed at the time of inspection, ensure that all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing <br /> waste. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(a) Stored hazardous waste on site longer than 90 days without a permit or authorization. <br /> 55-gallon container of oily absorbent dated 7-10-2015 was observed in the hazardous waste storage area behind the <br /> shop. Facilities who generate more than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month may store waste on site up to 90 <br /> days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a <br /> copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> Used oil contaminated with hazardous waste was not handled as hazardous waste. According to Mr. Souza, waste oil <br /> is drained from vehicles along with other vehicular fluids (diesel, coolant, etc.) into a single drain pan container. If used <br /> oil is contaminated with a hazardous waste, the resulting mixture shall be managed as hazardous waste, and labeled <br /> as appropriate. The onsite waste oil label failed to accurately address the composition (contents) and failed to list all <br /> the liquids that are being commingled with the used oil.
