The Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent and/or Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor <br /> who are responsible for the area will be the Caltrans representative, to the Incident <br /> Commander (IQ on scene. They will assume the IC role until relieved by the jurisdictional law <br /> enforcement agency which is the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on state right of way. <br /> The hazardous Material Manager rnay assume the role of Caltrans representative to the IC <br /> either by necessity or upon request of the Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent andlor <br /> Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor. District 10 Hazardous Material Manager, cf available, will <br /> attend all hazardous materiaUwaste spills. <br /> The Hazardous Material Manager at the scene of a hazardous material/waste spill will act as the <br /> technical expert liaison/advisor to the Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent and/or Caltrans <br /> Maintenance Supervisor. <br /> The Hazardous Material Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor will work together to have <br /> communication before, during and after all hazardous material/waste incidents. This includes <br /> ensuring all documentation gets completed and delivered when the spill cleanup is completed. <br /> If at any stage of the response, it appears that Caltrans personnel cannot proceed safely, <br /> utilizing standard procedures and equipment, all Caltrans personnel shall immediately <br /> cease operations and an Emergency Response Contractor shall be required. <br /> 4 <br />
