vials) that once contained pharmaceuticals in the Warfarin <br />family (e.g. Coumadin, Jantoven, Panwarfarin, Lonamin) or <br />Phentermine <br />• Materials used for spill cleanup such as: <br />Gloves, paper towels, etc. contaminated with <br />pharmaceuticals (no blood borne waste) <br />• Materials used to clean equipment and utensils that are <br />contaminated with pharmaceuticals such as: <br />■ Alcohol wipes, paper towels, etc. <br />• Trace chemotherapy waste which includes: <br />All packaging, cotton balls, gloves, wipes contaminated <br />with chemotherapeutic agents, etc. <br />• Used flu vaccine vials <br />• Unwanted compounding chemicals <br />• Compounds or reconstituted prescriptions that were never <br />picked up by customers (non -controlled) as well as other non - <br />controlled customer returns or pharmaceutical materials (e.g., <br />containers you cannot empty) that do not have any value. <br />REMEMBER: For all areas of the store (Front Store, Photo and Pharmacy), <br />when in doubt, always manage an item as hazardous. <br />The All wastes identified as hazardous must be managed using the StrongPak <br />StrongPak hazardous waste collection system (except specified photo wastes). <br />System <br />Setting Up Your Retail Waste Collection Area: <br />Each Store Manager is required to set-up a hazardous waste collection area <br />in the backroom of the store. Your store will receive a package of <br />containers along with instructions on how to set up the collection area. The <br />Store Manager must set aside a permanent space for the store's collection <br />containers (they may be stacked as shown in the instructions), keeping in <br />mind that you must keep the containers in view and accessible, but <br />protected from potential damage. Choose your collection area wisely as <br />you may have to complete additional requirements should you decide to <br />move the area at a later date. In most stores, your collection containers <br />will be cardboard boxes.
