Each double -walled tank is monitored using the <br />continuous annular space monitoring system and an annual certification of the <br />monitoring system. This system continuously monitors the interstitial space between <br />the <br />• tank wall and the exterior secondary wall. • alarm is sounded if liquid <br />is detected in the interstitial space. The monitoring system is tested annually and <br />certified to work properly. <br />The facility does not operate or have any single-wall tanks onsite. The single-wal' <br />piping is continuously monitored • an electronic leak detection system. <br />Tank and Pipe Testing: All single-wall piping is tested annually. The single-wall pipes <br />are tested annually using USEPA and state testing methods and certified testing <br />companies. The monitoring systems are tested annually to certify they are in proper <br />working order. <br />Monitoring of each double-wall tank is performed on a continuous basis using an <br />electronic monitoring system. Leads activate an audible and/or visible alarm when <br />liquid is detected in the annular space between the containment walls. The station <br />manager, or his/her designee, inspects the monitoring system panels at the beginning <br />• each shift. Refer to • 4.0 • the reporting • used by the service <br />• <br />Tank and Pipe Testing: The continuous monitoring systems for the double-wall tanks <br />and pipes are certified annually to be in proper working order using USEPA and state <br />testing methods and certified testing companies. <br />I&AWIM111111,11• <br />The monitoring systems (for single and double-wall tanks) shall be inspected annually <br />by running system functions as recommended by the manufacturer. Additionally, the <br />manufacturer may recommend cleaning the monitoring probes annually. The double - <br />walled tanks and piping were also inspected and • tested initially before <br />installation at the station.
