Ball valve (optional) al-
lows isolation of line during
pressure testing.
D) Before attaching primary
pipe in tank sumps and dis-
penser sumps, place flexible test
donut onto the primary pipe.
Note: Do not lubricate donuts
prior to installation.
E) Place a new copper washer
on the cone seat of the male
fitting. First, apply lubricant
(non -granular, clean grease or
oil) to the inner surface of the
copper washer to aid in keep-
ing the copper washer aligned
and rotating freely until seated.
Then thread the female cou-
pling into the male fitting using
between 60 and 100 foot pounds
of torque. Do not use joint com-
pound on threads of fitting.
F) Place cap on shear valve.
Open poppet valve and test
primary to 60 psi. Hold at least
1 hour. Allow pipe to stabilize
under pressure approximately
15 minutes. (Consult local
code, as requirements may
vary.) Use a soap/water solu-
tion to test all fittings.
TESTING WITH THE PRIMARY INSTALLED
Step One
102111111
r
i'
``
Step Two
Push flexible test donut into
compression seal at cuff or into
bulkhead fitting.
Seal test donut to compression
seal at cuff or to bulkhead fit-
ting with stainless steel clamp
provided. Torque clamp 1 to 2
foot pounds.
is
Step Three
Step Four
Step Five
Pressurize secondary pipe 3 to
5 psi and maintain pressure
through backfilling and pav-
ing procedures. If pressure is
maintained, lines are tight.
After backfilling and paving,
release pressure in secondary
lines and loosen clamps hold-
ing test donuts. Back off do-
nuts. Note: Do not cut test do-
nuts off as they may be needed
for future air pressure tests.
Fasten impact valve with ap-
propriate size riser pipe and at-
tach to stabilizer bar using TCI
components only (BR0004 kit).
INSTALLING THE CONDUIT PENETRATION FITTING
UB0075 and UB1075 for uncuffed entry into sump
Reducer for cuffed entry into sump
UB0075
FLAT SURFACE
NUT: 25-30 FT LBS
CLAMP;
30 IN LBS
ff CURVED SURFACE
NUT: 25-30 FT LBS
FU
CLAMP:
30 IN LBS
GASKET
Page 5 - Enviroflex Instructions
Cut hole using 1-3/4" hole saw
(HS0750). After hole is cut, re-
move burrs. Then remove clamp
and brass nut from the assem-
bly. Prior to inserting the fit-
ting, run a smooth bead of
Bostik 920FS or equivalent
sealant around flange of bulk-
head. Insert body of bulkhead
through hole, making sure the
gasket is on the outer surface of
the sump. Install the washer
and screw on the brass nut and
tighten to 25/30 foot pounds.
Insert the conduit through the
fitting and tighten the clamp
with torque wrench (CW0030)
to 30 inch pounds. Fill sump
with water above penetration
to insure fitting is liquid tight.
