C <br />E <br />HYGIENE <br />1. No smoking on site. <br />2. No eating of drinking in the contamination/decontamination area. <br />3. Workers will remove all contaminated personal protective clothing before <br />leaving the decontamination area. <br />4. A Supply of fresh running water or safety shower and eye wash will be provided. <br />5. Pathways/work areas will be clear of debris to avoid tripping hazards. <br />O r r , r t 1 323flIV12MAM <br />Excavation and removal will be performed in an area with good air circulation, and <br />contaminant levels in the area have been previously shown to be below the 8 hour <br />PEL, therefore Level D PPE should be adequate for all tasks associated with this <br />UST excavation, removal and disposal. <br />Level D PPE includes as a minimum, the following: <br />1. Protective eye wear or safety glasses/goggles appropriated for the activity being <br />performed. <br />2. Steel toed footwear. <br />3. Hard hats while working around equipment. <br />4. Gloves appropriate for each site activity. <br />a.) Heavy work gloves for handling general equipment and materials. <br />b.) Latex inner gloves and nitrille outer gloves for handling chemicals or <br />contaminated soil. <br />5. Tyvex coveralls (optional) <br />Criteria for use of level D PPE <br />1. No indication of airborne health hazards present. <br />2. No gross indications above background on the OVM. <br />E <br />
