Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan <br />Holz Rubber Company <br />emergency. The hospital is equipped with ambulances and other emergency medical equipment. In <br />the case of a medical emergency, the hospital will be contacted by the Emergency Coordinator and an <br />ambulance will transport the affected personnel to the emergency room. <br />Safety Kleen has sufficient resources to respond to hazardous waste spills and the worst-case discharge <br />volume for the facility in the event of an emergency (see Appendix B for contact information). <br />It is extremely important NOT to make copies of all or part of this plan without the knowledge of the <br />Site staff. Each copy of this plan must be kept up-to-date so that it is of maximum usefulness in an <br />emergency. <br />3.2 Emergency Coordinators Contact Information — 40 CFR 262.261(d), 22 CCR <br />66264.52(d) <br />Names, addresses, and phone numbers (office and home) of persons qualified to act as emergency <br />coordinator are provided in Section 2.1 of this plan. <br />3.3 Emergency Equipment — 40 CFR 262.261(e), 22 CCR 66264.52(e) <br />Refer to Appendix C for a list of all emergency equipment at the facility, including: <br />• An internal communication or alarm system capable of providing emergency instruction. <br />Additionally, cell phones and personal radios will be used to cointnunication between the <br />various staff personnel on-site <br />• A device capable of summoning external assistance (telephone or two-way radio); cell phones <br />will be utilized for the external communication <br />• Portable Ere extinguishers <br />• Spill control equipment <br />• Overhead Sprinkler System <br />• Audible Alarm System <br />• Personal protective equipment <br />3.4 Evacuation Plans - 40 CFR 262.261(f), 22 CCR 66264.52(f) <br />Refer to Appendix A for a general evacuation plan, which provides primate evacuation routes and <br />evacuation assembly areas. <br />3.5 Inspections <br />Refer to Appendix F for a general hazardous waste inspection forms. Hazardous waste containers <br />and areas will be inspected at least once per week. The containers will be inspected for proper storage, <br />labeling and container compatibilitNe with the waste they contain. The areas around the containers will <br />be inspected for evidence of spills or leaks. This will be done in order to help prevent any issues from <br />becoming worse. <br />
