5.0 EXCAVATED SOIL STOCKPILING, SAMPLING AND DISPOSAL <br /> ' This section describes the following activities <br /> • soil stockpiling and sampling, - <br /> • aeration and disposal of stockpiled soil, and <br /> ' disposal of water. <br />' <br /> 5.1 Soil Stockpiling and Sampling <br />' The pea gravel and sand fill material and native soil excavated from the UST cavity and from <br />' the piping trenches were stockpiled on-site Composite samples were collected from the <br /> stockpiles to characterize the soil for disposal <br />' Roux collected four soil samples from each <br /> p 50 cu yds of stockpiled soil To prepare the soil <br /> for sampling, six to twelve inches of soil were scraped away from the surface of the stockpile. <br /> Samples were collected from the prepared surface Stockpile samples were collected in stainless <br />' steel tubes and prepared for transport to the laboratory in the same manner utilized when <br /> sampling the sidewalls of the former tank cavity <br /> The stockpile samples were delivered to Sequoia for chemical analyses Chain-of-Custody <br />' documentation was maintained for all samples Sequoia combined each set of four stockpile <br /> samples into one composite sample for analysis A total of 15 composite samples were analyzed <br /> 1 for TPH-G, BTEX and STLC lead <br /> Table 2 summarizes the laboratory analytical data for the stockpile samples.
