a
18 July 2008
AGE-NC Project No.-98-0452
Page 2 of 5
water samples will be collected directly from the purged water discharge after 24 hours and near the
completion of purging. Two weeks after completion of the batch removal event, MW-4 will be
sampled once again to measure the short term effects of batch removal on the remaining mass of
adsorbed-hydrocarbons.
Ground water samples will be properly labeled,placed in a chilled container,and transported under
chain of custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories(C TEL),a State of California Department
of Public Health (CDPH)-certified analytical laboratory to be analyzed for:
• TPH-g, in accordance with EPA Method 8015M;
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total.xylenes '(BTEX), and the fuel additives di-
isopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), methyl tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol(TBA), 1,2-dibromoethane
(EDB), and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
Upon completion of field work and receipt of-final laboratory analyses, a report will be prepared-
describing the work performed and will include findings, conclusions, and applicable
recommendations. All laboratory reports for sample analyses, sample chain-of-custody
documentation,testing methods, and laboratory quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports
will be included with the report. After completion of the report, additional purging/disposal events
may be scheduled to further mitigate the dissolved TPH-g-mass around MW-4.
3.0. ADDITIONAL SITE ASSESSMENT SCOPE OF WORK i
The additional site assessment scope of work consists of the advancement of three soil borings for
the collection of grab ground water samples to vertically and laterally define the extent of
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water west of well MW-4.
The site assessment will include the following tasks:
• Pre-field work activities;
• Soil probe boring advancement, and collection of soil and grab ground water samples;
• Laboratory analysis; and
• Report preparation.
Details of these tasks are discussed below.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
' II
