UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> AT&T <br /> MICROWAVE RELAY FACILITY <br /> LODI,CALIFORNIA <br /> 46 Analytical Methods <br /> Selected soil samples were analyzed for the following constituents <br /> • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons- Diesel fuel (TPH-D,EPA Method 8015 Modified), <br /> • Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes (BTEX,EPA Method 8021 A), <br /> • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs, EPA Method 8260), <br /> • CAM 17 Metals (EPA Method 6010), and <br /> • Cyanide(EPA Method 9012) <br /> 47 Site Restoration <br /> Following removal of the UST, class II roadbase material was Imported to the site and compacted Into <br /> the excavation by Kvaerner <br /> 5.0 INVESTIGATIVE RESULTS -DISCUSSION <br /> 51 UST and Piping Condition <br /> • The UST was inspected by ATC and no ruptures or holes were observed Product piping did not <br /> appear to have leaked No free product was present Inside the UST at the time of its removal <br /> 52 Soil Condition <br /> Backfill material surrounding the UST consisted of pea gravel to an approximate depth of 14 feet bgs <br /> Native soil in the base and walls of the excavation consisted of silty fine sand Petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> odors or stains were observed in the base of the north end of the UST excavation <br /> No groundwater was encountered in the base of the excavation <br /> 53 Laboratory Analytical Results <br /> The soil samples were submitted to Sequoia Analytical (DOHS Certification No 1210) for laboratory <br /> analysis A summary of the soil analytical results is presented in Tables 5-1 and 5-2 Copies of the <br /> laboratory analytical reports and Chain-of-Custody Forms are presented in Appendix E <br /> The laboratory results indicate that confirmatory soil samples collected from the UST excavation had <br /> TPH-D concentrations ranging from 18 ppm to 4,900 ppm BTEX and MTBE were not detected in <br /> the excavation confirmatory soil samples The stockpile soil samples, had TPH-D concentrations <br /> ranging from 82 ppm to 2,800 ppm One stockpile sample had a total xylenes concentration of 0 13 <br /> ATC Associates Inc 61059 0029 <br /> 4 <br />
