During the spring of 1983 & 1986,
Flood Control District maps indicate that the water table was
about 27 ' bgl during those periods; PLATE IV is a portion of the
spring, 1986 map from that agency
LOCATION OF NEARBY WELLS -
A city of Stockton well is located across the street to the east,
we do not have completion details, but other wells in the area
are generally completed below 1501 . Monitoring wells in the area
are believed to be beyond the zone of influence of this location
PRIOR USE OF REMOVED UST:
The tank had been used to store Leaded & unleaded gasoline for
use in company vehicles There are no records available showing
gallonage purchased or used Based on the best information
available, the tank was probably installed in the late 1950 ' s or
early 1960 ' s by a previous owner.
BRIEF REVIEW OF PRIOR EVENTS
August 27 , 1986 - Tank removal plan was filed with the San
Joaquin Local Health District by ARC Pump & Welding Shop, see
EXHIBIT D for a copy of that plan.
June 3 , 1987 - The UST was removed under the direction of the San
Joaquin County Local Health District & the city fire department,
refer to EXHIBIT E for a copy of the inspection report . A soil
sample taken at 14 1/2 ' beneath the center of the tank site
revealed significant levels of benzene, toluene, xylene, & TVPH
see TABLE I & EXHIBIT F for details . The excavation was filled
with 12 yards of soil The removed spoil was stored on site,
covered with plastic . Field inspection revealed that the spoil
is still on site, uncovered.
March 8, 1994 - the San Joaquin County PHS, EHD issued a letter
to the owners informing them site closure could not be approved
and that a soil/groundwater investigation would be required,
refer to EXHIBIT A for a copy of that letter
• November 28, 1994 - correspondence from the San Joaquin County
3
