• 31 August 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0141 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> • One deep well approximately 5 feet north of well EW-1 to monitor HU4 • <br /> Ground water monitoring well locations and screen intervals of the wells are proposed to provide <br /> definition of the horizontal extent of dissolved hydrocarbon impact in HU1 and HU2 and to provide <br /> a means to monitor the vertical extent of hydrocarbon contamination near the former UST area <br /> Proposed monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Geologic cross sections depicting the <br /> HU's are are illustrated on Figures 3 and 4 Generalized monitoring well designs are illustrated on <br /> Figures 5, 6 and 7 <br /> The pilot borings for the proposed groundwater monitoring wells will be advanced to approximately <br /> 35 feet bsg for the well screened through HU1, 65 feet bsg far wells screened through HU2 and 118 <br /> feet bsg for the well screened through HU4 Pilot borings will be advanced utilizing a truck- <br /> mounted,hollow stem drill rig equipped with 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers Soil samples <br /> will be collected utilizing a California split-spoon soil sampler Total depths of borings may vary <br /> according to hydrogeologic/geologic conditions encountered during drilling <br /> Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services <br /> (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified/5030, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX) in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8260B, and <br /> • Fuel additives including di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl <br /> tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), <br /> ethanol, methanol, 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and 1,2-dichloro ethane (1,2-DCA) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8260B <br /> Laboratory reports for soil sample analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report <br /> with the findings and recommendations <br /> Advanced GeoE nviron mental,Inc <br />
