SUMIDEN WIRE PRODUCTS CORPORATION <br /> JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> JOB TITLE: PICKLING/WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR <br /> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - cont - <br /> Operates the clarifier and filter press as necessary to remove sludge from wastewater. <br /> Install empty Super Sacks by hand and remove full Super Sacks of ferrous sulfate from the <br /> Acid Recovery System with the use of a forklift, and store in proper place for packaging. <br /> Keeps work area clean. This includes the Pickling area, Acid Recovery area, Wastewater pH <br /> Balance area, Clarifier and Filter Press area, and any other connected work area. <br /> Daily calibrates the pH Probe that monitors the wastewater leaving the plant to the city POTW & <br /> does a Weekly calibration to the pH balance tank controllers and the diversion valve controller <br /> Works as a Maintenance Helper when Maintenance is being performed in this work area, or <br /> where needed on Monthly Maintenance Day and/ or PPSD. <br /> QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br /> satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/ or <br /> ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with <br /> disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> EDUCATION and /or EXPERIENCE <br /> High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) <br /> LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance <br /> instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports in English. Ability to speak <br /> effectively one on one & before groups of employees &follow written work order instructions <br /> MATHEMATICAL SKILLS <br /> Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, <br /> common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to use <br /> flasks, beakers, etc. and measure titrting soulutions to check and maintain bath concentrations. <br /> REASONING ABILITY <br /> Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, <br /> oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in <br /> standardized situations. <br />
