The Contractor will be solely responsible for all the costs, including fines and penalties, <br /> for the investigation and cleanup of any suspected hazardous materials the Contractor <br /> used, left on the job site, or disposed through a municipal drain or sewer, and any damage <br /> to property and/or injury to any person. <br /> 1.1.8 CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION <br /> The work specified in the Technical Provisions will be inspected by the Engineer, Owner, or <br /> Owner's agent, at various stages of the construction. <br /> 1.1.9 SITE SECURITY <br /> The Contractor shall provide suitable means of protecting the borehole(s)from the entrance of <br /> foreign objects at all times for the duration of the contract. <br /> 1.1.10 WATER FOR DRILLING <br /> Water for drilling operations will be available from an onsite source. The Contractor is responsible <br /> for delivering the water to the drilling sites from the assigned water source. The contractor shall <br /> employ means to prevent cross contamination of the water source(backflow preventer, air gap). <br /> 1.1.11 NUISANCE WATER, DEVELOPMENT WATER,AND DRILL CUTTINGS <br /> A. Nuisance Water--Nuisance water, such as rainfall or surface runoff, may occur at the well <br /> sites during the period of construction under this contract. The Contractor shall at all times <br /> protect the Work from damage by such waters and shall take all due measures to prevent delays <br /> in progress of the Work caused by such waters. <br /> B. Development Water-- During development of the well, the discharge water shall be fully <br /> contained in tanks, bins, trucks or by other means. All water and fluids generated by the drilling, <br /> construction, and development process shall be contained in tanks, bins, or trucks and lawfully <br /> disposed off-site. No fluids shall be discharged to the ground. Transportation and disposal costs <br /> shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> C. Drill Cuttings and Development Solids—All cuttings generated as part of the drilling <br /> process shall be contained in tanks, bins, or trucks. The Contractor shall take full ownership of <br /> drill cuttings generated and be responsible for handling and proper offsite disposal. <br /> Transportation and disposal costs shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> 1.1.12 CONTINGENCIES <br /> Materials and/or support services in connection with the Work,which are deemed"extraordinary" <br /> or"site-specific", and not"contemplated" under the Agreement shall be paid for separately. <br />
