lysimeters ) and/or shallow monitoring wells. The monitoring
system will be sampled on a frequency to insure that its early
warning capabilities are maintained.
4. Segregation and Discharqe of Non - Contaminated
Precipitation Runoff. As discussed in Section II , Marley has
initiated a program of housekeeping improvement and production
modifications designed to insure maximum segregation of non -
t contaminated precipitation from contaminated precipitation.
Inherent in this program will be the collection , retention and
controlled dischargeof non-contaminated precipitation runoff
consistant with the objectives of the San Joaquin County Flood
Control and Water Conservation District and other regulatory
agencies . Marley anticipates that this program will
significantly improve the overall contaminated water disposal
i problems previously experienced at this site.
5. Segregation , Containment , Treatment and Disposal of
Contaminated Precipitation. Marley apit icipates that the
precipitation segregation program discussed above will
significantly reduce the amount of the facility 's contaminated
precipitation runoff. However, there will still remain some low
level contaminated runoff from the site after the segregation
program is completed.
Marley is committed to the design, construction, maintenance and
operation of containment , treatment and disposal systems to
accomodate this runoff. Final design of the system will be
20
