Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton
Attachment A to Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton' s
letter to Mr. Ron Valinoti
dated 13 October 1989
Storage Trailers
Task 6 - Disposal of Storage Trailers and Contents
Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton has identified an agricultural supply company which
can utilize the Ordram 8-E and possibly the Silvisar. However, the Alfa-
Tox must be disposed of as hazardous waste due to corrosion of the
containers holding the Alfa-Tox. Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton will coordinate
transfer of the Alfa-Tox to a Class I disposal facility. If the Silvisar
cannot be used by a pesticide applicator, it should also be disposed of
at a Class I disposal facility.
In a previous discussion with the Class I waste facility operators, it
was indicated that confirmation analyses would not be necessary if the
material was in its original containers. However, due to the corroded
nature of the containers, sampling and analyses may be required. If
these analyses are required, we will seek authorization from Cal -Farm
prior to proceeding with the sampling and analyses. Confirmation
sampling and analysis is not included in the cost estimate.
Two of the storage trailers were found to be empty and no staining on the
floors or walls were noted. Removal of these trailers from the site will
include either disposal at a Class III waste facility or recycling as
scrap metal . Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton will determine the most cost-
effective way to dispose of these two storage trailers and coordinate
with the appropriate facility to perform the removal process. As
described in Task 1, the removal of these trailers will be performed at
the time of tank disposal .
The trailer containing the corroded Alpha-Tox containers will be disposed
of at a Class I waste facility. Disposal of the storage trailers will be
coordinated with disposal of the underground storage tank.
Task 7 - Additional Acreage Evaluation
The results of the preliminary title report performed on the Cal -Farm
Supply Stockton indicates that Cal -Farm Supply owns a portion of the
currently vacant field which is adjacent to the fenced yard area. It is
our understanding that this acreage has historically been used for
agricultural purposes. In order to evaluate this additional acreage, the
following will be performed:
WPNMLI:STOCKTON.WP2 A - 8
