Non-Artifactual Constituents and Faunal Remains: Fragments of fresh water mussel <br /> shell and bone as well as chert, obsidian, and basalt flakes were observed. <br /> 15. Site Disturbances: A portion of this site was probably used to build a levee shown on the <br /> sketch map. The ground surface appears disturbed. Mr. Angelo Brovelli (previous <br /> property owner has reported that excavations at site 9/24/92-1 (adjacent to the southeast) <br /> occurred in the 1940s by students from UC Berkeley. It is likely that some sample <br /> exploration occurred at this site as well. <br /> 20. Nearest Water. The south shore of North Tracy Lake bounds the north edge of the site. <br /> The Mokelumne River is located z 275 meters to the south. <br /> 21. Vegetation Community (site vicinity): Oak buckeye savannah. <br /> 22. Vegetation (on site): Introduced grasses and weeds including star thistle and mustard, <br /> poison oak; live oak, valley oak, and buckeye. <br /> 23. Site Soil: Dark grey-brown greasy fine silt with no gravel inclusions. (Soil samples # 15- <br /> 24) <br /> 24. Surrounding Soil: Light brown compact silty clay. <br /> 25. Geology: Riverbank Alluvium Formation. <br /> 26. Landform: Lakeshore. <br /> 27. Slope: 0 - 5% <br /> 28. Exposure: Open (on 85% of site) to slightly shaded. Sunny and exposed throughout the <br /> year. <br />
