4. Because additional copies of the drawings may have to be repro- <br /> duced photographically , color shading cannot be used. Drawings <br /> must show shading as dot shading , cross hatching, or similar <br /> graphic symbols . <br /> 5 . The drawings must include the exact location of the proposed <br /> works in relation to identifiable landmarks . <br /> 6 . Drawing must include plan and elevation views of the proposed <br /> works and the proximity of the proposed works in relationship <br /> to existing facilities , property lines , levees , streams, etc. <br /> 7 . Drawings of levee cross sections or profiles must indicate the <br /> elevations of levee crowns , toes , low water surface and design <br /> flood plane . These drawings should include horizontal and <br /> vertical scales and must be referenced to a known vertical <br /> datum. <br /> Application Processing <br /> Upon receipt of an application , a general review is made to deter- <br /> mine if the application is adequately complete to begin processing . <br /> If the application is found to be complete , it will be assigned a <br /> number and the applicant will be sent a letter acknowledging <br /> receipt of the application. If during the review process the <br /> application is found to be incomplete , the applicant will be <br /> advised by letter of deficiencies in the application. If within a <br /> reasonable time limit these deficiencies are not corrected, <br /> i <br /> processing of the application will be terminated and the applicant <br /> will be notified that the application file will be closed. <br /> Notice of the application is sent to Federal and State agencies for <br /> review and comment. All comments will be considered by staff in <br /> making final recommendations on each application. The implementa- <br /> tion of work descrir:d in the permit issued on each approved appli- <br /> cation is subject to 12 general conditions and a number of special <br /> conditions depending on the complexity of the proposed work. <br /> The majority of applications filed are approved by the Board 's <br /> General Manager. Applications that must be considered by the Board <br /> are placed on its agenda for consideration at the next appropriate i <br /> public meeting. The applicant and all interested parties are <br /> notified of the meeting and may appear and present their views to <br /> the Board for consideration. <br /> The applicant has the right to appeal to the Board the General <br /> Manager ' s denial of an application. Requests for Board considera- <br /> tion should be in writing and should include a statement of facts <br /> why the appeal is being made to the Board. <br /> Revisions to the proposed work or completed work that have not been <br /> approved by The Reclamation Board may be submitted on the Board 's <br /> application forms . Revised applications are processed in the same <br /> manner as new applications . <br /> III-20 <br />
