AUDUBON SIGNATURE <br /> L.. f SYSTEW-i :t' COOPERATIVE SANCTUARY PROGRAM <br /> . ..�.,- •---ifs.� <br /> AUDUBON SIGNATURE STATUS <br /> REQUIREMENTS <br /> In addition to the Cooperative Sanctuary Program for existing facilities, the Audubon <br /> Society of New York State (New York Audubon) manages a program for proposed <br /> developments. This program is called the Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary <br /> Program. The Signature Program provides valuable information and guidance over a <br /> longer period of time and recognizes landowners by providing certification in several <br /> areas of environmental planning. Only landowners who complete the process of.the <br /> Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary Program, however, are eligible to apply for <br /> designation as having attained full Audubon Signature Status. The following is a <br /> description of The Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary Program and Audubon <br /> Signature Status Requirements. <br /> New York Audubon's responsibilities in the management of the Audubon <br /> Signature Cooperative Sanctuary Program include: 1) setting standards, 2) establishing <br /> guidelines, 3) reviewing and commenting on proposed actions, and 4) assisting the <br /> landowner in reaching Signature Status. The responsibilities of the landowner(s) <br /> includes: 1) securing necessary governmental permits, 2) generating specific plans r <br /> relative to the Signature Program requirments, and 3) construcitng the project according <br /> to those plans. <br /> AUDUBON SIGNATURE <br /> COOPERATIVE SANCTUARY PROGRAM <br /> Eligibility <br /> Anyone who is planning a development and has not yet "moved earth" is eligible <br /> to register in the Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary Program. <br /> Conservation Guide <br /> Once registered, the landowners will receive a Resource Inventory Form. This <br /> form requests specific information about the environmental resources of the site and is <br /> submitted with any additional supporting information to New York Audubon for review. <br /> Based upon the information supplied by the landowner, our staff will prepare a <br /> Conservation Guide for the property. <br /> VI-32 <br /> Printed on Recycled Paper <br />
