monitor box that says Leak -X or Leak Sensor II. <br />This device monitors the cavity between the primary and secondary <br />fuel tanks and trench liner for gasoline or water. <br />These units have e set of alarm lights, a power light, and an <br />audible alarm to inform the personnel in the store if anything is <br />wrong. This unit must be checked daily to make sure the power <br />light is on and there have been no alarms. <br />If an alarm light comes on, but no audible alarm is heard, the <br />unit is detecting water somewhere in the secondary containment <br />and must be called in to Maintenance to be checked and reset. <br />If an alarm light comes on and an audible alarm is heard, the <br />unit is detecting gasoline somewhere in the secondary containment <br />and must be called into Maintenance IMMEDIATELY to find out the <br />problem, corrected and reset. The audible alarm can be turned <br />off by pushing the button or the silent switch° but the red light <br />will remain on. <br />You do not have to shut down the gas island if this unit trips, <br />but you must inform Maintenance when any of the alarm lights or <br />audible alarms trip. <br />c) VISUAL INSPECTION - A visual inspection of the gasoline <br />dispensers are to be done every week. This consists of opening <br />up the lower panels of each dispenser and visually inspecting any <br />leaking gasoline or possible leaking gasoline inside the <br />dispenser . <br />If a leak is seen or suspected, turn off that dispenser and call <br />Maintenance. A leaking dispenser can loose many gallons of <br />gasoline and it must be checked regularly. <br />d) TRENCH LINER - This is simply aa fiberglass containment box <br />that would contain any gas leak from any of the product lines or <br />leaks inside the dispensers from leaking into the ground. <br />INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL <br />Whena call comes in from a store concerning one of the <br />monitoring devices, the Maintenance Department will send one of <br />its technicans or will call out a contractor to inspect or <br />correct the problem. <br />If a leak has existed so that gasoline has leaked into the <br />ground, then the Maintenance person is to call the MAINTENANCE <br />DEPARTMENT at 800-328-9966 and report this so the proper agencies <br />can be notified~ <br />
