accessible from areas where large numbers of people are normally situated <br /> (restaurant, trucker's lounge, store area, etc) <br /> Notification: <br /> Evacuation of the facility will be done by a building-wide page through the phone <br /> system. The paging system is used as part of normal business operations and is kept <br /> in good working condition. Employees are advised to notify the General Manager if <br /> a speaker becomes inaudible or ceases operation. <br /> Staging areas: <br /> The primary staging area is located southeast of the main building, in the parking lot. <br /> If that area is inaccessible, or is otherwise unusable, the alternate staging area is the <br /> area NW of the truck scale close to the Frontage Road. <br /> Responsibility for Evacuation: <br /> All employees have been trained in evacuation procedures. The General Manager or <br /> ranking employee is in charge of directing the operation, and ensuring that all <br /> patrons, and employees have been evacuated. This person is also responsible for <br /> activating the fuel dispense emergency shut-off switch. <br /> Each employee is charged with ensuring their area has been evacuated, without <br /> unduly endangering their person, before leaving the premises. Handicapped persons <br /> and small children are to be escorted from the building by an employee, emergency <br /> personnel, or person of responsibility. <br /> Personnel Records: <br /> Personnel records and shift assignment sheets are maintained in the General <br /> Manager's office. Copies of the Personnel Files are kept at Corporate Headquarters <br /> in Ogden, Utah; updated semi-annually. <br /> 6. EARTHQUAKES <br /> Identify the areas and equipment in your business, which would require immediate <br /> inspection or isolation due to their vulnerability to earthquake related ground <br /> motion. Check for equipment such as gas cylinders, piping, drums, etc.,that may <br /> need to be secured or spillage that may require mitigation or abatement. <br /> Three areas are of concern during and after an earthquake. One is located inside the <br /> building(preparation area), and two are located outside the building(propane <br /> storage tank and the underground storage tanks <br /> After the Facility Manager or General Manager has determined the facility is safe to <br /> re-enter, the breakers to all pumps are to be closed. The effluent valve from the oil <br /> water separator is to be closed and the tank checked for cracks and possible leakage. <br /> The automatic leak detection equipment is to be checked for operation and any <br /> leakage from the underground storage tanks; if a leak is detected, see section 8 <br /> below.
