Peters, Jr. —Sr. Director- Environmental, Health & Safety <br /> 4.11 Emergency Spills <br /> 4.11.1 Emergency Spills shall be reported to the 24-Hour Emergency Incident Reporting <br /> Line (877-446-3643) as soon as practicable. <br /> 4.11.2 Timely efforts shall be made by the DEA/DEC (or HD Supply driver in the case of off- <br /> site spills)to isolate the area of the spill to prevent access by others, and if safe to do <br /> so, to prevent the spilled material from entering waterways or drainage systems by <br /> placing absorbent materials on or around the spill. <br /> 4.11.3 The Enterprise EHS department shall coordinate communication between the <br /> Location and the Emergency Spill Response Vendor, and shall report the release to <br /> the appropriate regulatory agency(s) as needed. <br /> 4.11.4 Under no circumstances shall any person other than the Emergency Spill Response <br /> Vendor or Approved Hazardous Waste Transporter transport Hazardous Waste, <br /> including contaminated absorbent and the materials used to clean up the Emergency <br /> Spill. <br /> 4.11.5 HD Supply associates who transport or permit the unauthorized transportation of <br /> Hazardous Waste may be subject to immediate termination of employment with HD <br /> Supply. <br /> 4.12 Out-of-Date Products <br /> 4.12.1 Hazardous Materials (products)that have exceeded their expiration date, and the <br /> extension date if the manufacturer has provided an extension, can no longer be sold <br /> and shall be managed as Hazardous Waste. <br /> 4.12.2 Containers of expired Hazardous Materials shall be promptly moved to the Central <br /> Accumulation Area and, if greater than five (5) gallons (18 liters) and labeled <br /> individually with a unique SECAT label. <br /> 4.12.3 Small packages of identical expired Hazardous Materials may be over-packed into a <br /> lined, larger over-pack Accumulation Container with the appropriate SECAT label <br /> affixed to the Accumulation Container. <br /> 4.13 Co-Generation of Hazardous Waste <br /> 4.13.1 When Contractors engage in services at a Location, the Location Manager shall <br /> ensure that prior to the commencement of work the process for managing Co- <br /> Generation is discussed with the Contractor. <br /> 4.13.2 When Contractors Co-Generate de minimis amounts (e.g., less than 10 gallons of <br /> liquid and debris or less than 20, 4-foot fluorescent lamps) of Hazardous Waste at a <br /> Location, the Location Manager shall ensure that the Hazardous Waste is retained at <br /> the Location and managed in accordance with this Standard. <br /> Any printed copy of this document is an uncontrolled document.
