Medical waste mixed with hazardous waste will be treated as hazardous waste, <br /> 2. Medical waste mixed with radioactive waste will be treated as radioactive waste. <br /> 3. Medical waste mixed with hazardous and radioactive waste will be treated as radioactive waste. <br /> (7) Pathology Waste(recognizable human anatomical remains) <br /> There are no medical wastes produced which contain or are comprised of recognizable anatomical <br /> remains at Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. <br /> (8) Chemotherapeutic Waste(antineoplastic/cytotoxic drugs) <br /> Chemotherapeutic waste are not generated or handled by this facility. <br /> Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center accepts no medical waste from any other facility. <br /> b. Storage area description with storage methods utilized for each waste stream including any <br /> pharmaceutical waste <br /> Storage area description.- <br /> The designated accumulation area of Vienna used for the storage of medical waste containers <br /> prior to transportation or treatment is adjacent of the primary registration site within 400 yards <br /> from the property- located next to the municipal solid waste site(dumpster area) of Vienna. <br /> This storage area is secured by use of locks on entry doors. Access is limited to Licensed Nurses <br /> on duty,Maintenance Person, Laundry Aide on duty and Registered Waste Hauler. <br /> The wording of warning signs is in English, "CAUTION-BIO HAZARDOUS WASTE <br /> STORAGE AREA—UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS KEEP OUT,"and in Spanish,CUIDADO- <br /> ZONA DE RESIDUOS -BIOLOGICOS PELIGROSOS—PRO IDA LA E A <br /> PERSONAS NO AUTORIZADAS,"Warning sign is readily legible during daylight from a <br /> distance of at least 25 feet. <br /> This designated accumulation area provides medical waste protection from animals and natural <br /> elements and does not provide a breeding place or a food source for insects or rodents. <br /> Storage methods: <br /> (1) The biohazard bag is tied to prevent leakage or expulsion of contents during all future storage <br /> and handling. When containers are prepared for transport offsite from the facility, they are <br /> prepared in compliance with the United States Department of Transportation(USDOT) <br /> requirements. <br /> (2) Medical waste is placed into a biohazard bag not to exceed three pounds or one gallon and tied. <br /> In a patient room, it is immediately transported upon completion of the procedure directly from <br /> the point of generation and placed into a biohazard container stored in the biohazard waste storage <br /> area. <br />
