Attachment A <br />Scope of Service -7- Contract Number MLT97000 <br />MEDICAL WASTE HANDLING.5ERVICES (continued) <br />3. wear protective gloves, coveralls, lab coats, or other protective clothing or <br />equipment while handling or coming in contact with medical wastes; <br />4. be equipped with extra red plastic bags, sharps containers, and other <br />supplies and equipment (tongs, shovels, etc.) to repackage any waste <br />which may spill en route to the treatment facility; and <br />5. not use trash chutes to transfer medical waste. <br />G. Contractor's transporting vehicle shall: <br />1 be cleaned and decontaminated, in accordance with all applicable laws, <br />rules and regulations, after each use or as often as required, using <br />accepted disinfecting methods. Records shall be kept and shall be readily <br />available when requested by the institution; <br />2. be constructed as to provide damage resistant access and a driver's <br />compartment that is a sealed, separated enclosure; <br />I have the waste container on the vehicle completely enclosed; <br />4. be labeled with Company name or trademark in a color contrasting with the <br />background so as to be readily legible during daylight hours from a <br />distance of fifty (50) feet, along with the international biohazard symbol and <br />the word "BIOHAZARD"; <br />5. - not be a compacting truck (this type of vehicle is not authorized to <br />transport medical waste); and <br />6. be approved by the institution for size and ability to navigate on institution <br />grounds. <br />H. At the conclusion of each service call, contractor shall: <br />1. remove all medical wastes according to the scheduled time frame <br />specified under "Request for Service/Response"; <br />2. clean and disinfect each storage bin, locker and/or area; maintain <br />designated medical waste sites free of medical waste spills and any <br />debris related to the pickup of medical waste; <br />
