Attachment A Scope of Service -7- Contract Number MLT97000 MEDICAL WASTE HANDLING.5ERVICES (continued) 3. wear protective gloves, coveralls, lab coats, or other protective clothing or equipment while handling or coming in contact with medical wastes; 4. be equipped with extra red plastic bags, sharps containers, and other supplies and equipment (tongs, shovels, etc.) to repackage any waste which may spill en route to the treatment facility; and 5. not use trash chutes to transfer medical waste. G. Contractor's transporting vehicle shall: 1 be cleaned and decontaminated, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, after each use or as often as required, using accepted disinfecting methods. Records shall be kept and shall be readily available when requested by the institution; 2. be constructed as to provide damage resistant access and a driver's compartment that is a sealed, separated enclosure; I have the waste container on the vehicle completely enclosed; 4. be labeled with Company name or trademark in a color contrasting with the background so as to be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of fifty (50) feet, along with the international biohazard symbol and the word "BIOHAZARD"; 5. - not be a compacting truck (this type of vehicle is not authorized to transport medical waste); and 6. be approved by the institution for size and ability to navigate on institution grounds. H. At the conclusion of each service call, contractor shall: 1. remove all medical wastes according to the scheduled time frame specified under "Request for Service/Response"; 2. clean and disinfect each storage bin, locker and/or area; maintain designated medical waste sites free of medical waste spills and any debris related to the pickup of medical waste;
