Scheduled Service Response - Contractor shall perform collections as stated <br />under the "Medical Waste Container Locations" or as needed. At the time of <br />pick-up, the Contractor shall be escorted by CDC personnel to and from the <br />entrance gates to the container pick-up areas. Contractor shall comply with <br />institutional security and safety policies and procedures. <br />1. Pick up of waste will be on Monday through Friday, including holidays, on <br />days and times mutually agreed upon after award of the contract. <br />2. As set forth in HSC, Article 8, Containment and Storage, and under no <br />circumstances shall medical waste remain on the institutional grounds for <br />more than seven (7) calendar days, or thirty (30) calendar days for <br />Institutions generating less than 20 pounds of medical waste per month, <br />or if the medical waste is frozen as per Article 8, Section 25081, except as <br />provided in Section 25081(d)(5). <br />Medical waste disposal services provided is pre -determined by the <br />frequency of collection and quantity the individual institution generates. <br />The following is provided to clarify the requirement. If an institution: <br />1 generates 20 pounds or more a month, medical waste can be <br />contained and stored at 0°C or above for a maximum of 7 days. <br />2) generates less than 20 pounds a month, medical waste can be <br />contained and stored at 0°C or above for a maximum of 30 days. <br />3) contains and stores the medical waste (no weight requirement) <br />below 0°C, the medical waste can be contained and stored for up <br />to a maximum of 90 days.) <br />3. At the time of collection, the Contractor shall remove full containers and <br />replace with empty containers on a one-for-one basis. <br />Emergency Service Response - <br />If the institution is unable to control the odor from its stored waste and the odor <br />poses a public nuisance, the institution may request additional removals. <br />If an unforeseen circumstance produces an aberrant volume of material <br />collection, the institution may request additional removals. <br />Contractor shall arrive on site no later than two (2) working days after phone <br />request unless a longer response time is approved by the institution. <br />
