1.3.1 Biohazardous, pathology wastes; <br />• Remove the red bag from the receiving cart. <br />• Log the medical facility the bag was received from with the time, date, <br />hour, amount of waste and cart number the waste was received in. <br />• Notify the Supervisor of the RMW <br />• Transport the RMW to the confined RMW storage area in the North West <br />corner of the laundry. <br />• Place the RMW into a container marked for RMW, cover the container <br />and lock the door to the storage area. <br />o The container for RMW will have a Biohazard Waste label on the <br />container and or a Biohazard Waste symbol. <br />o The Pathology Waste container will be specifically marked "Path" <br />on the lid and side of the container. <br />1.3.2 Chemotherapy Waste <br />• Remove the yellow container/bag from the receiving cart. <br />• Log the medical facility the container/bag was received from with the <br />time, date, hour, amount of waste and cart number the waste was received <br />in. <br />• Notify the Supervisor of the Chemotherapy Waste. <br />• Transport the RMW to the confined RMW storage area in the North West <br />corner of the laundry. <br />• Place the RMW into a container marked for RMW, cover the container <br />and lock the door to the storage area. <br />o The container will have Chemotherapy waste labeled on the top <br />and side of the container. <br />1.3.3 Pharmaceutical Waste <br />• Remove the blue and white container/bag from the receiving cart. <br />• Log the medical facility the container/bag was received from with the <br />time, date, hour, amount of waste and cart number the waste was received <br />in. <br />• Notify the Supervisor of the Pharmaceutical Waste. <br />• Transport the RMW to the confined RMW storage area in the North West <br />corner of the laundry. <br />• Place the RMW into a container marked for RMW, cover the container <br />and lock the door to the storage area. <br />o The container for Pharmaceutical Waste will be labeled "for <br />incineration only". <br />1.3.4 Sharps <br />Employee Identification of RMW 2 of 3 <br />
