Field Operations Policy and Procedures <br /> c. Remove any valuable or breakable items (i.e. jewelry, glasses, money) from the <br /> decedent unless otherwise requested by the Authorized Representative. <br /> i. Place them in a clear, sealable bag with a label showing the decedent's full <br /> legal name (LAST, First Middle), date of birth, date of death, funeral home <br /> name and number and case ID number(if applicable). <br /> ii. Store the bag(s) containing the valuables in a designated locked, secure area <br /> with a copy of the Personal Effects Inventory Form (FIN-CS006). <br /> iii. Log bags placed in the designated locked, secure area on the Safe Log (FIN- <br /> CS 106). <br /> d. Store non-valuable items (i.e. clothing, shoes) in a designated area with a copy of the <br /> Personal Effects Inventory Form(FIN-CS006). <br /> e. Only wash soiled clothing or other items when requested and authorized by the <br /> Authorized Representative and documented as such on the Personal Effects <br /> Inventory Form (FIN-CS006) in the Placement Notes column. <br /> 9. Prior to the arrangement conference, the PCC sends all valuable items to the funeral <br /> home (i.e. at the next transfer to the location or by utilizing an available courier). <br /> a. Log the valuables out of the designated locked, secure area on the Safe Log (FIN- <br /> CS 106). <br /> b. Keep a copy of the Personal Effects Inventory_Form (FIN-CS006) at the PCC and <br /> send the original to the funeral home with the personal effects. <br /> When taking custody of personal effects during professional services: <br /> 1. Document all items on the Personal Effects Inventory Form (FIN-CS006) and check <br /> mark the "Arrangement Conf' box or "Other" box (depending on when the items are <br /> brought to the location) at the top of the form. <br /> a. Create a new Personal Effects Inventory Form (FIN-CS006) form for each event <br /> (e.g. arrangement conference, drop-off of items at funeral home or PCC). <br /> b. When personal effects include money, list each bill and coin on the inventory (e.g. 3 <br /> dimes and 2 ten dollar bills). <br /> c. Use generic terms (e.g. yellow metal instead of gold, red stone instead of ruby) when <br /> describing jewelry. <br /> 2.
