8. Analyses of the water samples collected during the SWAT
program indicated that volatile organics exceeding
regulatory standards were detected in the down gradient
ground water monitoring wells. The volatile organics
were not detected in water samples from the up gradient
ground -water monitoring wells. Based on data collected
during the SWAT program, the landfill appears to be
impacting ground water down gradient from the facility.
Further monitoring is needed to determine if the landfill
is impacting down gradient ground water in nearby
production wells. A verification monitoring plan is
required to determine the vertical and horizontal range
and scope of the volatile organics contamination.
Submit an application for a modified permit at this time. This
modified permit will be recorded for a daily peak tonnage of 512
tons.
An application for a revised permit may be submitted following the
completion of the CEQA process.
Sincerely,
c+0.
0,-6-
Ron Valinoti, Director
Environmental Health Division
RLV/EP: nd
cc: Martha Vazquez, California Waste Management Board
