r� <br />L <br />a <br />GUMM <br />Site Controls: An exclusion zone will be enforced within 20 feet of the drill rig whenever <br />the rig is in operation. Personnel not required for operations will not be permitted in the <br />exclusion zone. The site safety officer shall periodically monitor the wind direction and <br />adjust the placement of the contaminate reduction and support zones as necessary. No <br />eating, drinking, or smoking will be allowed by Twining personnel in the exclusion zone. <br />Access to the exclusion zone shall be via the contaminate reduction zone which shall be <br />established up -wind of the exclusion zone. Personnel and equipment decontamination will <br />be performed in this zone. <br />The site safety officer will designate a support zone up -wind of the contaminate reduction <br />zone. Smoking will not be allowed at the facility except in designated areas. Contact lenses <br />will not be worn by Twining field personnel. <br />Personal Protective Equipment: It is anticipated that the level of personal protection <br />required for this project will be U.S. EPA Level D. Personal protective equipment for each <br />member of the field team will be available on-site and used as may be required by field <br />conditions. A summary of the personal protective equipment is as follows: <br />• Full or half face respirators equipped with organic cartridges; <br />• Tyvek® coveralls; <br />• Neoprene rubber gloves; <br />• Steel -toed leather work boots or steel -toed rubber boots; <br />• Safety glasses; and <br />• Hardhats. <br />Hardhats will be worn at all times. Goggles will be worn during steam cleaning operations. <br />If required, the remaining personal protective equipment shall be put on before entering the <br />immediate work area. The sleeves of the coveralls shall be outside of the cuffs of the gloves <br />to facilitate removal of clothing. If at any time protective clothing (coverall, boots or gloves) <br />becomes torn, wet, or excessively soiled, they will be replaced immediately. <br />Cleanup/Decontamination Procedures: At the end of the workday, the following procedures <br />will be used to allow for the safe removal and decontamination of personal protective <br />equipment that may have been required. <br />1. Boots and gloves will be washed with detergent and tap water, then rinsed before <br />removal. <br />
