(CDM's)
Work Plan for the installation of soil-gas probes at the Austin Road Landfill. CDM has been
tasked by the City of Stockton to implement the installation of five probes at the landfill.
Purpose
The compliance soil-gas monitoring network at the Austin Road Landfill currently consists
of 12 probes as depicted on Figure 1,Soil Gas Probe Locations at Austin Road Landfill. Five
of the probes,SGP-3A,7,8,9,and 10A are located at the perimeter of the waste. The
specifications for the landfill perimeter monitoring network is contained in the California
Code of Regulations Title 27,Division 2,Solid Waste. Section 20925 CIWMB—Perimeter
Monitoring Network, specifies that"(2)Perimeter monitoring wells shall be located at or
near the disposal site property boundary." At the Austin Road Landfill, the perimeter of the
waste does not correspond to the site property boundary. The primary objective of the
proposed field program is to relocate the five soil-gas probes sites to the property boundary
which is consistent with the requirements of Title 27.
Soil-Gas Probe Installation
CDM will advance five borehole locations to the specified depths at locations SGP-3B,7A,
8A,9A,and 10B as depicted on Figure 1. Gas probes will be constructed in accordance with
the probe design depicted in Figure 2,Proposed Gas Probe Design.
