Determine, if possible, the hazardous substance and its characteristics, such as a <br /> pesticide, herbicide, solvent, paint, explosive,- heavy metal, acid, caustic agent (Sodium <br /> Hydroxide), or other substance listed as hazardous by the U.S. Environmental Protection <br /> Agency. <br /> 4. Control or Limit the Emergency <br /> a. Use berms or sandbags if necessary to prevent the substance from spreading. <br /> 2.6.2.9 Traffic Accident <br /> 1. Take Safety Precautions <br /> a. Provide first aid to any victims. <br /> b. Isolate the area from other site users and nonessential personnel by directing traffic <br /> around the accident location or temporarily closing the site to any incoming traffic. <br /> 2. Provide Information <br /> a. If emergency response is required, call 911 and provide the following information: <br /> (1) Tell them you are reporting a traffic accident. <br /> (2) From there you may be routed to another person.
