use of excavated soil. All undisturbed on-site soils will be <br /> suitable for daily or intermediate cover, unless hazardous <br /> materials are encountered. Should the Operator encounter hazardous <br /> materials during excavation, the CDPW shall be notified <br /> immediately. <br /> The Operator may be required to excavate and place soils for liner <br /> sideslope protective operations layers, and construction of roads. <br /> The County will provide specifications for such materials and the <br /> required field engineering for placement. In addition, the County <br /> may direct the Operator to perform selective stockpiling of soil <br /> with specific engineering properties. <br /> 3.5.2 Excavation Grade Control <br /> The County will supply three bench marks with information on <br /> horizontal and vertical control. The bench mark information will <br /> include the horizontal grid coordinates and the elevation (U.S.G.S. <br /> datum) to the nearest hundredth foot. The Operator shall use these <br /> bench marks for control of all excavation grade control. <br /> The Operator will provide survey stakes to guide excavation based <br /> on the grading plans and bench marks supplied by the County. The <br /> Operator will be responsible for the accuracy of the land surveys <br /> and setting of the grade stakes. The Operator shall be responsible <br /> for performing the excavation to within 0.5 feet within of the <br /> grades specified by the County. <br /> The County may perform periodic verification surveys to check the <br /> accuracy of the grade stakes. <br /> The Operator shall provide the CDPW with field notes of excavation, <br /> grade stake setting, and control according to specification called <br /> out in Section 12 , Survey Work. <br /> 9 <br />
