Mr. Tom Horton Project 0939-004.08
February 14, 1995
Page 2
Surface water samples are to be collected on a quarterly basis from monitoring point S-1
(upstream) and monitoring point S-2 (downstream) of the landfill; surface water sampling
locations are shown on Figure 2. No surface water flows were observed at monitoring
points S-1 and S-2 in November.
MONITORING RESULTS
Results from the fourth quarter 1994 monitoring event are presented on Table 1.
Attachment B contains a tabular summary of the historical monitoring results.
Groundwater samples from wells MW-1 and MW-2 were analyzed for the following
parameters specified in WDR Order No. 94-258:
Total dissolved solids (TDS)
Chloride
S ulfates
Nitrate-nitrogen
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Specific conductance, pH, temperature and turbidity were measured in the field. Samples
collected this quarter were also analyzed for the following parameters as part of the
5-year constituents of concern monitoring program specified in the WDRs.
Total organic carbon
Carbonate
Bicarbonate
Total alkalinity
Semivolatile organic compounds
_ Organochlorine pesticides, PCBs
Chlorophenoxy herbicides
21 metals
Cyanide
Sulfide
Water sample field data sheets are contained in Attachment C. Chemical analyses were
performed by Columbia Analytical Services, Inc., a state-certified laboratory. Certified
analytical reports with chain-of-custody records are contained in Attachment D.
Monitoring results were compared to the concentration limits established in the site's
monitoring and reporting program. These concentration limits are presented on Table 1.
Due to insufficient data, concentration limits have not been established for several
constituents. Concentration limits will be calculated after four quarters of data are
collected.
SAC/pjM3M390040.8e1-95 1fc:3
