of the owner of said property, and bear all costs therefor. <br /> 3.3 ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. The CONTRACTOR in executing the Work shall maintain affected areas <br /> within and outside project boundaries free from environmental pollution <br /> that would be in violation of federal, state, or local regulations. <br /> 2. Maintain original site drainage wherever possible. <br /> B. Water Pollution Control: <br /> 1. Comply with laws, rules, and regulations of the State of California and <br /> agencies of the United States Government prohibiting the pollution of lakes, <br /> wetlands, streams, or river waters from the dumping of refuse, rubbish, or <br /> debris. <br /> 2. Pollution of Waterways: The CONTRACTOR's construction and related <br /> activities shall be performed by methods that prevent entrance or accidental <br /> spillage of solid or liquid matter, contaminants, debris and other <br /> objectionable pollutants and wastes into streams, watercourses, flowing or <br /> dry, and underground water sources. Such pollutants and wastes will <br /> include, but will not be restricted to refuse, earth and earth products, <br /> garbage, cement, concrete, sewage effluent, industrial waste, radioactive <br /> substances, hazardous chemicals, oil and other petroleum products, <br /> aggregate processing tailings, and mineral salts. Pollutants and wastes shall <br /> be disposed of in accordance with applicable permit provisions or in a <br /> manner acceptable to and approved by the OWNER. <br /> 3. Storage and Disposal of Petroleum Products: Petroleum products include <br /> gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricants, heating oils, and refined and used oil. <br /> During project construction, all petroleum products shall be stored in such a <br /> way as to prevent contamination of all ground and surface waters. <br /> C. Dust Control: <br /> 1. Dust control shall conform to the provisions in Section DUST CONTROL, <br /> of the California Standard Specifications, July 1995, and shall be performed <br /> in accordance with Forward's San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution <br /> Control District permit requirements. <br /> 2. The CONTRACTOR shall control the dust resulting from construction of <br /> this project regardless of whether it is the result of his operations or caused <br /> by public traffic at the work site. <br /> 3. Full compensation for dust control, including controlling dust caused by <br /> public traffic, shall be considered incidental to the Project Work and <br /> considered as included in unit prices paid for the various Bid Items listed on <br /> the Bid Form and no separate payment will be made therefor. <br /> 4. Dust control shall consist of furnishing water supply, required equipment, <br /> additives, accessories and incidentals, and carrying out proper and efficient <br /> measures wherever and as often as necessary to reduce dust nuisance, and to <br /> prevent dust originating from construction operations during the completion <br /> of the Contract, as required by the OWNER. <br /> 5. Water shall be applied by means of pressure-type distributors or pipelines <br /> equipped with a spray system or hoses with nozzles that will ensure a <br /> uniform application of water. <br /> 6. All equipment used for the application of water shall be equipped with a <br /> Forward Landfill WMU FU-04 TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 01500 4 AND CONTROLS <br />
