positive means of shut-off. D. Monitoring Wells and Probes: I. The CONTRACTOR shall at all times be responsible for maintaining access to, and providing for, the protection of all monitoring wells and probes shown on the Construction Drawings. 2. Any damage to monitoring wells and probes caused by the CONTRACTOR shall be repaired at no additional cost to the OWNER. 3.4 MAINTAINING TRAFFIC A. General: Personal vehicles of the CONTRACTOR's employees shall not be parked on the traveled way at any time, including any section closed to public traffic. B. Construction equipment and vehicles shall not be operated or driven in those areas delineated on the Construction Drawings as "Off-Limits". C. The CONTRACTOR shall submit a traffic control plan to the OWNER for the Work involved in roadway areas and landfill areas prior to commencement of Work. CONTRACTOR shall maintain access to the existing adjacent landfill operation at all times. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the safe separation of construction and public traffic. D. Full compensation for conforming to the requirements in this section, including furnishing and installing flagmen, guards, signs, lights, flares, barricades, and other facilities for the sole convenience and direction of onsite traffic shall be considered incidental to the Project Work and considered as included in the unit prices paid for various Bid Items listed on the Bid Form and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor. E. When flaggers and guards are required by regulation or when deemed necessary for safety, furnish them with approved orange wearing apparel and other regulation traffic control devices. F. Material Haul on Public Roads: All requirements stated in the permits shall be followed for using public roads for hauling materials to the site. 3.5 ACCESS ROADS A. Construct access roads as shown and within easements, rights-of-way, or Project limits. Utilize existing roads where shown. Alignments for new routes must be approved by OWNER. B. Maintain drainage ways. Install and maintain culverts to allow water to flow beneath access roads. Provide corrosion-resistant culvert pipe of adequate strength to resist construction loads. C. Provide gravel, crushed rock, or other stabilization material to permit access. D. Maintain road grade and crown to eliminate potholes, rutting, and other irregularities that restrict access.
