positive means of shut-off. <br /> D. Monitoring Wells and Probes: <br /> I. The CONTRACTOR shall at all times be responsible for maintaining access <br /> to, and providing for, the protection of all monitoring wells and probes <br /> shown on the Construction Drawings. <br /> 2. Any damage to monitoring wells and probes caused by the CONTRACTOR <br /> shall be repaired at no additional cost to the OWNER. <br /> 3.4 MAINTAINING TRAFFIC <br /> A. General: Personal vehicles of the CONTRACTOR's employees shall not be <br /> parked on the traveled way at any time, including any section closed to public <br /> traffic. <br /> B. Construction equipment and vehicles shall not be operated or driven in those areas <br /> delineated on the Construction Drawings as "Off-Limits". <br /> C. The CONTRACTOR shall submit a traffic control plan to the OWNER for the <br /> Work involved in roadway areas and landfill areas prior to commencement of <br /> Work. CONTRACTOR shall maintain access to the existing adjacent landfill <br /> operation at all times. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the safe <br /> separation of construction and public traffic. <br /> D. Full compensation for conforming to the requirements in this section, including <br /> furnishing and installing flagmen, guards, signs, lights, flares, barricades, and <br /> other facilities for the sole convenience and direction of onsite traffic shall be <br /> considered incidental to the Project Work and considered as included in the unit <br /> prices paid for various Bid Items listed on the Bid Form and no additional <br /> compensation will be allowed therefor. <br /> E. When flaggers and guards are required by regulation or when deemed necessary <br /> for safety, furnish them with approved orange wearing apparel and other <br /> regulation traffic control devices. <br /> F. Material Haul on Public Roads: All requirements stated in the permits shall be <br /> followed for using public roads for hauling materials to the site. <br /> 3.5 ACCESS ROADS <br /> A. Construct access roads as shown and within easements, rights-of-way, or Project <br /> limits. Utilize existing roads where shown. Alignments for new routes must be <br /> approved by OWNER. <br /> B. Maintain drainage ways. Install and maintain culverts to allow water to flow <br /> beneath access roads. Provide corrosion-resistant culvert pipe of adequate <br /> strength to resist construction loads. <br /> C. Provide gravel, crushed rock, or other stabilization material to permit access. <br /> D. Maintain road grade and crown to eliminate potholes, rutting, and other <br /> irregularities that restrict access. <br /> Forward Landfill WMU FU-04 TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> 01500 5 AND CONTROLS <br />
