operations during times of surface water runoff from Module 1, a berm is placed at the down
gradient edge of the daily cell to collect surface water that might run off the exposed waste.
The landfill's stGm &itefstorm water sampling plan conforms to their NPDES permit and
StermwaterStorm water Pollution Protection Plan (Appendix NXXJ). Each year the landfill
submits an Annual Storm Water Protection Report to the RWQCB.
X7.7. Litter Control
Litter is controlled by the use of temporary fences downwind of the working face and a
permanent fence along the site perimeter. The fencing, operational area, and the site in
general, is monitored daily for accumulated litter. Landfill employees monitor site and adjacent
sites along Waverly Road for litter. If necessary, Foothill Landfill hires local contractors to
remove litter.
6-.7-.7.8. Noise Control
Noise is controlled as needed to meet the County Noise Ordinance, which limits the noise
received at residences beyond the property boundary. Noise levels from site equipment and
operations are controlled by proper maintenance of mufflers and construction of berms around
portions of the site. The landfill is not near residences (other than the on-site residences) so the
potential for noise nuisance is minimal.
6-.8-.7.9.
