® Title 27 Section 20200 (d) (3) allows the disposal of certain dewatered sludge in Class III
landfills, stating that: "liquids or semi solid waste (i.e., waste containing less than 50 percent
solids, by weight) other than dewatered sewage of water treatment sludge as described in
section 20220(c), shall not be discharged into Class II Landfills (emphasis added). Waste Quantities
Foothill Sanitary Landfill is currently permitted to receive a maximum of 1,500 tons per day, 7
days per week. Approximately 220,000 tons of refuse were disposed at the Landfill in 2009.
Below are the details of the tonnage received at the site:
• Current average tonnage: Approximately 18,600 tons per month (2009).
• Daily average tonnage: 611 tons per day (2009).
• Daily peak tonnage: 943 tons per day (2009).
® The annual waste quantities at Foothill Landfill have decreased approximately 31% since 2006
(Table 2). Waste quantity projections assume that incoming waste will increase approximately
3% per year from now on (Table 5).
i
Foothill Sanitary Landfill Page 6 of 57 Public Works/Solid Waste
Joint Technical Document County of San Joaquin—Revised 7/30/10
a
I
