DAILY FIELD REPORT Page 1 of 1
Project Name: Foothill Sanitary Landfill - Area 2A Report Number: 063
Project Number: 14-101-01 Date: Thursday 08/06/15
Owner: Dept. of Public Works, San Joaquin County CQA Monitors: R. Nogales_
Contractor: R I Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and
Weather: Overcast Wind: 0-10 mph.
Temperature: A22rox, range 66- 80 F Other:
The contractor worked from 5:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Excavation: No activity observed.
Access Road: No activity.
Operations Layer Processing: Screening began at 5:30 am and the crew worked until 3:30. The excavator continued until 4
pm on the oversize reject pile. (1) Hundai 480LC and (1) CAT D6 dozer continued screening operations. The Hundai 480LC
was used to load soil from the east end of Stockpile 2 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled
in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. The oversize material was recycled
back into the stockpile after brief track walking with the D6 dozer. The Contractor reported 1,525 tons of material screened
today. A sample was collected for field sieve analysis. Results of sieve testing of a sample collected yesterday indicated 100%
of the material was finer than 1 inch.
LCRS Gravel Placement: Up to 17 tandem end -dump trucks began delivery of LCRS gravel this morning. Initially the
material was very clean, but after a few loads, some contamination was observed in the loads. Occasional dirty loads
continued throughout the day. (2) Field sieves were ran on the material and reported to the QA Manager. Field sieve tests
indicated that fines contents were 1-2% and that some sand -sized sieves were outside the operating range contained in the
approved submittal. The Contractor was notified of the field test results. A conformance sample was sent to the laboratory in
the afternoon for gradation and permeability testing. Approximately 1185 tons of LCRS rock were delivered today as
reported by the Contractor
The material was spread using a Cat D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS. (2) laborers were used to control the wrinkles, which
were not significant today due to cooler temperatures and overcast conditions. AES QA personnel monitored the placement
and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe.
Geosynthetics: No activity observed.
Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (1) CAT 627 scraper, (1) 14H motorgrader, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300
excavator, (1) CAT CS 54B smooth drum roller (vibratory type), (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) CAT 430D backhoe.
