AES not on site
during screening. (6) Locations within Saturday's screened stockpile were field tested using 1" gradation sieve to measure
maximum aggregate size. Observed 100% of material passing 1" Sieve at all (6) locations. (1) Sample collected from Saturday
stockpile to run full gradation in field lab. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen.
Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 5:30 am. (1) Hyundai 480LC, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator and
(1) CAT D6 dozer used to perform screening operations. The Hyundai 480LC was used to load soil from the east end of
Stockpile 2 into the Power Screen screening plant. Hitachi 300 Excavator used to stage screened operations material for
future haul and remove waste material from under screen plant and belt into separate stockpile. D6 Dozer used to support
Hyundai Excavator and finish a haul road from the stockpile to cell floor. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a
belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) Cat 745 Dump Truck occasionally hauled loads of
+1" oversized reject material to top of Stockpile #2. Oversized material was incorporated back into screening operation as D6
Dozer feeds material to Hyundai 480 Excavator.
At approximately 9:00 Hyundai 300 began loading (1) Cat 745 Dump Truck with Screened Operations Layer for placement
on cell floor. At 11:30 a second Cat 745 Dump Truck was added to operation. (1) D6 LGP Dozer was used to spread
Operations layer 2ft thick over deployed 8 oz geotextile along southern edge of cell. At approximately 11:30, a sample of the
operations layer was collected in place and a full gradation was run in the field lab. Lab Results indicate 100% passing 1"
sieve.
Gravel Drainage Material Placement: Early AM - (1) Cat D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spread stockpiled GDM along
southwest corner of cell floor. (1) Laborer used to control wrinkles and hand grade along edges of cell. Observed wrinkles to
be minimal due to early morning weather conditions. AES QA personnel verified the depths of the rock by using a dulled
probe.
Geotextile: RJ Gordon continued to deploy 8 oz/sy geotextile over finished GDM along south portion of cell working west. (4)
Laborers used to hand roll Geotextile into place. (3) Rolls of 8 oz/sy Geotextile deployed today. Observed seams sewn using
hand sewing machine.
Leachate Collection Pipe: Approximately 300 If of 6" perforated HDPE pipe was placed today along southernmost reach of
Leachate Collection Pipe, beginning at sump and heading west. (1) Cat 950 M Loader opertating over completed operations
layer soil used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe wrapped in 8 oz/sy
Geotextile. Depth of Gravel was measured to be a minimum of 1ft in depth and a minimum of 4ft in width. Geotextile was
measured to have a 2ft minimum overlap. Sample of coarse gravel was collected from stockpile and field gradation was
performed. Results of gradation indicated material generally complied with the approved gradation. 282 tons of coarse
gravel delivered today.
Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) CAT
430D backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper. (1) Power Screen, (1) Belt Stacker, (1) Hyundai 480LC excavator, (1) CAT
D6T dozer, (2) Cat 745 Dump Truck, (1) Cat 950 M Loader
Problems/Resolutions.
Visitors: Mike Raub
Reviewed By: M.
