DAILY FIELD REPORT Paize 1 of 1 <br />Project Name: Foothill Sanitary Landfill - Area 2A Report Number: 088 <br />Project Number: 14-101-01 Date: Friday 09/11/15 <br />Owner: Dept. of Public Works, San Joaquin County CQA Monitors: R. Nogales <br />Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and <br />Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 10-15 mph. <br />Temperature: A2prox. range 69- 108 F Other: <br />The contractor worked from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. <br />Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile #3 today at 6:00 am. (1) Hitachi 300 <br />excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. The Hitachi 300 used to load soil from <br />Stockpile 3 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the <br />screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader used relocate +1" from under belt into separate stockpile. (1) <br />Sample collected from today's stacker belt. Full gradation was performed in field lab. Lab results indicated 100% Passing 1" <br />Screen. <br />Sacrificial Geomembrane: Placement of sacrificial Geomembrane began on the East slope today and the slope was only <br />partially covered. Windy conditions hampered deployment. <br />Operations Layer Placement: (1) Hyundai 480LC loaded (2) Cat 745 Dump Truck with Screened Operations Layer for <br />placement on cell floor. (1) D6 LGP and (1) D4 Dozer were used on a part time basis to spread Operations layer 2 ft thick over <br />deployed 8 oz/sy geotextile along western, eastern and northern most portion of cell. (1) 14M Motor Grader was used to fine <br />grade the placed operations layer. Random samples of Operations layer were hand sieved in field with 1" screen during <br />placement. Placement discontinued at 5:30 pm. <br />Gravel Drainage Material Placement: GDM was placed intermittently at the sump area. <br />Geotextile: Great Basin sewed 8 oz geotextile along western floor and at the sump. The contractor has received another 10 <br />rolls of 8 oz/sy geotextile without MQC data being provided. The materials are being placed without prior acceptance. <br />Geocomposite: 8 oz Geotextile seams were sewn using hand sewing machine along sides of previously deployed <br />Geocomposite along the northern slope. Observed 3 ft overlap and nylon ties placed at 6 -inch intervals along the tie in to <br />existing Area 1 Tie-in geocomposite atop the northern slope. An 8 oz/sy Geotextile Cap was placed over nylon ties and heat <br />bonded to existing Geocomposite. <br />Leachate Collection Pipe: Placement of the LCRS burrito was completed per plan today for the majority of the floor with the <br />exception of short runs at the toe of the eastern slope. Risers up the eastern slope have not been installed yet. <br />Force Main: The CAT 950 loader placed a 2" lift of screened Ops layer as shading in the trench per plan details. The <br />electricians placed 2 conduits in the trench per plan. <br />Leak Detection: Leak Location Services Inc. on site today to perform leak location survey. Survey not completed today and <br />per the Contractor will return once the floor gravel and operations layer soil are complete. <br />Sump Construction: (1) Cat 950 M Loader was used to place coarse gravel in the sump. 8 oz/sy geotextile was placed over <br />the graded top surface of the coarse gravel and seamed by sewing. The loader also placed GDM in the same area after <br />deployment of the geotextile. Approximately 7 loads of coarse Gravel were delivered today. <br />Anchor Trench: No activity today. <br />Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John <br />Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper. (1) Power Screen, (1) Belt Stacker, (1) Hyundai 48OLC excavator, (1) <br />CAT D6T dozer, (2) Cat 745 Dump Truck, (1) Cat 950 M Loader (1) CAT D4 Dozer (1) 14M Motor Grader <br />Problems/Resolutions. 8 oz/sy geotextile materials are being placed without MQC data, conformance tests and acceptance. <br />Visitors: <br />Reviewed By: M.
