Hu and <br />Weather: Clear - Wind: 0-10m h. <br />Temperature: Approx. range 65- 90 F Other: <br />The contractor worked from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. <br />Sacrificial Geomembrane: Great Basin continued with sand bag anchor installment for the sacrificial geomembrane until <br />noon when the activity was completed. <br />Operations Layer: (1) CAT 14H motorgrader with GPS graded the floor. At 1 pm until 5 pm (2) CAT 745 trucks loaded by the <br />Hitachi 300 excavator hauled material from the screened stockpile to the bench at the tie in of Area 2 to Area 1. The trucks <br />loaded by the Hundai 480 excavator also hauled soil from the Drainage channel. The first foot of material placed was 1 -inch <br />minus screened material. AES and RJ Gordon laborer monitored the first foot of material thickness by taking measurements <br />as material was placed. The 1 foot of screened material was completed across the tie in bench near the end of the shift. One <br />small area of screened cover remains at the NE corner of the bench. I have advised the contractor that there are some +3" <br />clods that need to be picked out of the unscreened material. <br />Force Main: Backfill of the utility trench began late in the afternoon. Screened material was placed on the first foot over the <br />pipe. The Contractor hauled onsite soil to continue the backfill as the excavated soil from the trench had many large >3" clods. <br />The Rack support for area 2A was put in place today. A portion of the force main will not be pressure tested as it will be <br />completed in the future during installation of the new tank. <br />Termination Berm Construction: Construction on the western and southern termination berm continued today. Material <br />came from the adjacent drainage channel excavation. (1) CAT D6 dozer mixed fill and spread the materials in 8" lifts prior to <br />compaction using (1) CAT CP 54 self propelled compactor. <br />Electrical Panel Placement: Electricians continued with conduit in the forced main trench. <br />Sump Riser Pipes: A resolution to the missing 6" instrumentation pipe has not yet been reached. <br />Drainage Structures: (1) Hundai 480 excavator continued cutting the trapezoidal channel at the western edge of the floor, <br />working southward. Excavated materials were placed as fill in the adjacent berm and also sent to the Operations Layer on the <br />tie in Area. (1) CAT 14 H and 1 CAT D6 dozer assisted in the activities. At 1 pm work stopped due to a break down of the <br />Hundai excavator. <br />Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) JD 410K <br />Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper.
