M. Hu and
Weather: Clear - Wind: 0-10m h.
Tem erature: Approx. range 65- 90 F Other:
The contractor worked from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Operations Layer: (1) CAT 14H motorgrader with GPS graded the floor. Some additional operations layer material was
placed on the surface to fill low spots to grade. The material was obtained from Stockpile 3 and delivered by (1) CAT 745
truck. (1) Hyundai excavator loaded (2) CAT 745 trucks with soil from Stockpile 3. The soil, which was selected to have
relatively less oversized clods, was hauled to the bench at the tie in with Area 1. (1) CAT D6 dozer spread the material
assisted by (1) laborer to remove any oversize clods. Some of the clods have rolled down the slope and rested on the top of
the screened material pushed up the slope. The Contractor was notified that the oversize material must be removed from the
screened material on the slope. Another CAT D6 pushed the operations layer on the slope to cover the Sacrificial
Geomembrane with a 2 -foot embedment. (1) Laborer was with the operation full time to verify lift thickness and pick any
oversize that may have rolled down from the operation above. The operations layer soil on the slope was frequently checked
for oversize clods using a 1" screen.
Force Main. Backfill continued on the forced Main trench with finer material from the screened stockpile. Two laborers
spread the material in thin lifts and used a whacker for compaction. The material was moisture conditioned prior to
placement. I have discussed testing of the Forced main piping with the foreman on several occasions. The Contractor
supposed to provide the test procedures. There is no specific plan yet.
Termination Berm Construction: Construction on the western and southern termination berm continued today. Material
came from the Stockpile 3 area. (1) CAT D4 dozer mixed and spread the fill in 8" lifts prior to compaction using (1) CAT CP 54
self propelled compactor.
Electrical Panel Placement: Electricians continued with conduit in the forced main trench for future use.
Sump Riser Pipes: A resolution to the missing 6" instrumentation pipe has not yet been reached.
Drainage Structures: No Activity today.
Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) JD 410K
Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper. (1) Hyundai 480LC excavator, (1) CAT D6T dozer, (2) Cat 745 Dump Truck, (1)
Cat 950 M Loader, (1) CAT D4 Dozer, (1) CAT 14MH Motor Grader, (1) CAT CP54 compactor
Problems/Resolutions:: A resolution to the missing 6" instrumentation pipe has not yet been reached
Visitors:
Reviewed By: M.
