A diversion program was initiated at the North County Recycling Center and Sanitary <br /> Landfill with the completion of the Recycling Center in February of 1992. Materials <br /> recycled include tires, wood, aluminum, scrap metal, white goods, clothing, glass, plastic, <br /> newspaper, and recyclable Household Hazardous Waste ( used motor oil, antifreeze, spent <br /> lead acid batteries and latex paint). <br /> The Forward, Inc. Sanitary Landfill has a recycling program targeting wood, all grades of <br /> paper, cardboard, ferrous and nonferrous metals, glass and plastics.
