0 GeoSyntec Consultants <br />Review Contractor submittals, samples, and supporting test reports and <br />verifying that all documentation required by the Project Specifications have <br />been received and are in compliance. <br />• Observing that all lines and grades have been verified by the Contractor's <br />project surveyor before subsequent component construction. <br />• Observing that the surface water drainage system has been installed as required <br />by the Project Plans and Specifications. <br />5.2.2 Earth Materials <br />The inspection activities of the CQA Team with respect to the earth components <br />will include the following: <br />• Inspecting and testing the proposed on-site source of sandy lean clay for use in <br />the compacted clay liner. <br />• If necessary, observe the clay liner admixture procedures with the on-site sandy <br />lean clays and imported NARCO clays. Determine if the appropriate mix ratio <br />and materials are being used, and if the materials are being properly blended. <br />• Inspecting and testing the proposed on-site source of clayey sand or silty sand <br />for use in the vegetative layer. <br />• Observing the removal of irregularities and protrusions in the foundation <br />material before proceeding to the subsequent cover layers. <br />• Monitoring the placement of vegetative layer to prevent damage to underlying <br />synthetic components. <br />• Verifying that cracks, depressions, and irregularities are filled in and compacted <br />to the specified relative compaction. <br />• Testing and monitoring as -placed soil properties as described in the Project <br />Specifications and this CQA Plan. <br />• Verifying compacted lift thickness and grades. <br />J:WI IED\FORWARD\CLOSURE\REPORT\CQA REPORT 5-3 99.11.30 <br />
